If you have any concern about asking your guest for money/vouchers and really don’t know how to word it on your invite here are some useful tips from previous brides and the best approach to take:

"Your presence at our wedding is more important to us than your presents, but many people have already asked if we have a gift list but there really are no household items we need. If you wish to make a good will gesture then please make cheque payable to..........

If you wish to buy us a gift...............vouchers would be greatly appreciated.

"We have been living together for some time as most of you know so we're hoping that people won't feel obliged to buy us the obligatory toasters etc.
........... gift vouchers would be greatly appreciated as we are planning to buy some furniture from there soon.

However, we hope that you do not feel obliged to bring a gift, it's your company at our wedding that we will value most.

As you know we both had our own houses prior to moving in together so don’t really need another toaster!

However we are planning on a very special honeymoon to the Bahamas and without sounding cheeky would be grateful for any contributions you may wish to make towards this!

Unfortunately we cannot have a “gift list” at the travel agents so please make cheques payable to “??” or "??” – you may be able to help us upgrade our seats on the plane, or even pay for us to swim with dolphins!

Thank you for helping us to make our dreams come true. It’s even a good idea to put on your invite that a post box will be present, giving your guests peace of mind and reassurance of their safety.

Make a big feature of your Post Box by having it on the table with the cake and bridesmaid bouquets.Throw away cameras also get lost or misplaced, they too can get posted into the post box to safe guard those irreplaceable photo’s memories that can never be replaced.

Always a good idea to tell your best man to guide all the guests to your postbox, leaving the happy couple hassle free.As the guests arrive and post their cards into the Post Box it’s a nice idea to have next to it on the table a message guest book so the guest’s can write the happy couple a special message.
